Avocados have become quite popular in recent times as more people are becoming conscious of living healthy lifestyles.
Beyond eating avocados, just like we have coconut oil, we also have avocado oil.
Here are a few ways to add avocado oil to your diet:
- Add a tablespoon to a smoothie.
- Drizzle over a salad.
- Include it when baking or cooking.
- Use it in homemade mayo
Avocado oil is really good for the skin and helps to make the scalp much richer and better.
Below is an easy way of making Avocado oil as prepared by Iwiep Nelly.
Step 1: Get RIPE avocados. Yes! The avocados have to be ripe to the point that it can be eaten. If they are hard, it will be difficult to achieve other steps.
Step 2: Remove the edible parts of the avocados with a table spoon and put in a bowl.
*Note* : Do not throw the seeds away because they are quite useful.
Step 3: Use a fork, blender or egg whisk to mash the avocados
Step 4: Put mashed avocados into a frying pan, preferable a non-stick pan and start stirring at low heat every 5mins. The avocados starts melting, changing its colour front green to brownish black. Make sure it does not get burnt.
Step 5: After about 30 to 45 minutes of intermittent stirring, pour the avocado in a clean white clothe and squeeze out all the oil into a clean dry bowl.
What to do with your avocado seeds:
Cut them in small pieces and dry thoroughly . Blend and add to your facial scrub. It leaves your skin glowing.
