Sex is not a side attraction in a marriage, it is the most important aspect of a marriage. It’s an integral part of companionship.
These days, I hear people say sex is overrated, especially from people who have been married for more than 5 years and 70% being women. But is sex really overrated?
Do you remember when you got married to your Knight in Shining Armour or to that Princess who was all shades of beauty? How both of you literally “ate” each other up like sex was going out of fashion?

Should we talk about the nooks and crannies of your homes where you took your “acrobatics” to? The kitchen , dining table, bathtubs, chairs, bare floor, handrails, car, balcony, etc. I could go on and on, but didn’t we do all that? So, how and when did sex become overrated, yet families are having sex related issues?
It’s natural that with age and as time rolls by, our sexual drive lowers, coupled with family and societal pressure, BUT not that sex is overrated.
The most common concern couples come into session with is arousal discrepancy ― when one person wants sex more often than the other does. I have yet to meet a couple that has been together for a long time and reports the same desire level of frequency. So, having mismatched libidos doesn’t mean your relationship is doomed to fail. What’s important is having a discussion with your partner about how often you want or need sex. This is where Afrodisiacs may play a role.
Ever heard of the word Aphrodisiacs? An aphrodisiac is a food, drink, or drug which increases libido or sex drive. It’s ok to take an aphrodisiac from time to time, especially naturally made ones and there are lots of them available.
For the purpose of this article, we shall discuss just 3.
* Tigernuts, Dates and Coconut Combo: A lot of people swear by this one, while some others say it doesn’t work for them. Tigernuts and dates are soaked for a few days, then blended together with coconut and the juice extracted.
* JaBO: This is a yoruba word ( Ja – obo). It’s an extremely potent herbal aphrodisiac for men which can last up to 2-3 days in his system. It stimulates the male sex organ and can sustain him going for up to an hour per round. Unfortunately, this cannot stimulate an impotent man.
* ReDan: This is another yoruba herbal aphrodisiac, specially brewed for females. Half cup of ReDan stimulates the woman and fires up her sexual drive. This can also last up to 2 – 3days in her system.
Although there are several other afrodisiacs like chocolates, some sea foods etc. For the purpose of this article we just listed herbal preparations made locally in Nigeria.
However there’s a caveat: Use with caution to avoid unwanted side effects like priapism.
So couples, rejuvenate your sex life and stop thinking that sex is overrated.
